welcome
Gary, who has always lived in Michigan, currently lives in southern Jackson County. His studies include Architecture at the University of Michigan, Industrial Design at Wayne State University and master’s work in Metal Craft at Wayne State University. As a young student Gary experienced success as an artist. However, he traded his life as an artist for a life as a husband and father who worked to help support his family. During that time he always imagined that upon retirement he would return to creating works of art. After forty years, at age 69, Gary began his career of being a sculptor.

Artist Statement
My sculptures are highly defined abstract constructions of wood, glass, and machined metal components. The wood and metals were chosen because they are durable, lend themselves to a variety of finishes and have some intrinsic value. The glass was selected because it allows light to become an integral aspect of the sculpture. The glass also presents a unique way of viewing the sculptures internal forms. My sculptures possess a formal quality that is based on the elements and principles of design and are a blend of past, present and future vision. The sculptures’ iconic nature reflects my interest and background in architecture and engineering.
